Joint pain is a common problem. There are numerous factors like injury, sprain, rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis that can cause joint pain. It is also called arthralgia which occur in one or more joints. Infections, tumors of joint create extreme discomfort and can impact the quality of life.
Growing age is not the only factor to make joints stiff and painful but the most common cause is wear and tear, injury or even serious illness like rheumatoid arthritis, it is an autoimmune disorder to cause stiffness and pain in joints. Osteoarthritis disease is related to growth of bone spurs and degeneration of cartilage at the point of joints. It is very common in adults who have crossed forty five years of age. Another joint pain is caused by disease affecting ligaments, cartilage, and bone within joints, lead to joint inflammation of arthritis and infection which can further create joint tumor.
There are different symptoms of it like pain, swelling, and stiffness, warmth in joints or joint inflammation due to injury. It may be owing to infection in the joints. Redness may be seen on the joints, swollen, painful to touch and difficulty in joint mobility. Doctor must be consulted in case of severe pain or swelling. MRI, CT scans and x-ray scans are suggested by doctor to know the exact cause of it.
Medications like anti-inflammatory, adequate rest, warmth baths, massage and stretching exercises may give relief from pain and swelling to start the routine of life. A physiotherapist is suggested to start rehabilitation programme which may include massage, strengthening and stretching exercises. It improves joint mobility and tone up muscles also.
A surgery is suggested in case of irreparably damaged joints. Use ice pack or heat to treat little pain in joints and doing stretching exercises. Some home remedies may be used like warm bath is quite beneficial. Massage the joints with olive oil or mix one teaspoon of camphor oil in one teaspoon sunflower oil gently.
Arthcare oil is also useful in getting relief. Taking one teaspoon of turmeric powder mixed in a cup of milk can provide relief. Banana is useful for providing strength and grease to the joints. Apple cider vinegar is effective in joints pain. Juice of bathu give relief by rubbing it on joints before going to bed.
Drink water in plenty to clean body of all impurities. Alternate hot and cold compressors on joints can be tried to get result. Mix carrot juice with lemon juice about one glass daily. Increase omega-3 fatty acid and vitamin to get benefit. Mix apple cider vinegar in honey takes it twice daily to have desired result. Mix eucalyptus oil, camphor oil, menthol, methyl salicylate oil to rub on the joint to get relief from pain or swelling.
